A suspected armed robber was apprehended by residents of Nagoyi in Zaria local government area of Kaduna State on Sunday morning while attempting to rob a car at gun point.

DAILY POST gathered that the suspect is now helping the Divisional Police Headquarters in tracing the whereabouts of his colleagues.

An eye witness told DAILY POST that the residents of Nagoyi have been living in fear on the activities of the bandits who have been terrorizing the area for a very long time.

According to the residents, the hardened armed robbers and two of his accomplices stormed the area at about 10.30 am on Sunday and used a master key to gain entrance into one of the houses where they met a lady and demanded she give them the key to the vehicle at gun point.

While dragging with the lady, the eyewitness explained that the lady raised the alarm and immediately, residents ran to rescue the situation as they overpowered the hoodlums, leading to the arrest of one of them. A pistol was recovered from him while the remaining two suspects escaped.

According to the eye witness, the unlucky suspect told them that he came from Bauchi State on Sunday morning and met them at Kofar Doka, stressing that they boarded a tricycle to Nagoyi to carry out their mission.

He disclosed that, “The suspect is currently under investigation in Zaria City with a view to getting information on the whereabouts of the remaining two who escaped.”

At the time of filing this report, the Police had not commented on the incident as they are said to be busy with the investigation.
