Zamfara swearing-in: Military issues strong warning to politicians

Operations Sharan Daji and the two components of the military serving in Zamfara State have sent a strong warning to politicians in Zamfara, saying that the military would not tolerate any nonsense during the May 29th swearing in of a new government.

Speaking with DAILY POST in Gusau, the state capital, the Force information officer, Major Clement Abiade stated that politicians were trying to disrupt the smooth hand-over of government on May 29, 2019, saying that the military would not tolerate such interruptions in the system.

“I am telling you the truth, I mean every single word I told you because the order has come from the Force headquarters in Abuja,” he stressed.

Major Abiade further stated that the information was given to all the military sectors in the country by the Chief of Army Staff, LT. Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai.

DAILY POST recalls that the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, had in a recent state-wide broadcast, stated that whether the the supreme court passes judgement on the case between his APC camp and the G8 group or not, he was set to hand over the mantle of power to Hon. Muhktar Shehu Idris as the next Governor of the state.

It is believed that Mukhtar Shehu Idris, currently the Commissioner for Finance in Zamfara state, is the anointed candidate of the governor whose emergence the G8 group are said to be challenging. But Senator Kabiru Marafa had declared: “We do not have any problem with Hon. Mukhtar Shehu Idris but we have problem with Governor Abdulaziz Yari because of how he is manipulating Zamfara politics”.
