Residents of Zamfara state on Monday cried out bitterly over the high rate of killings and kidnappings in the State.
According to a resident of Dansadau, Mr. Ibrahim Dansadau, who spoke with DAILY POST in Gusau, the state capital on the gory episodes being unleashed by men of the underworld, the situation has made the state a notable colony of armed bandits in the federation.
“As I speak with you, citizens of Zamfara state no longer sleep with two eyes closed in every parts of Zamfara state ” he lamented.
Dansadau noted that some weeks ago, notorious armed bandits and gunmen seized some communities in Dansadau, noting that over seven traders were kidnapped while two other people were shot and several vehicles vandalized by the gunmen.
He called on the security agencies to take proactive measures to quell the ugly trend ravaging the state, saying that the high rate of killings and kidnappings have forced people to lose confidence in the security operatives since the activities continue on a regular basis.
According to him, nobody can claim to be more powerful than the government unless the government does not want to act.
