Zamfara State House of Assembly, on Wednesday began serious deliberation on a bill to perfectly ensure that the state is devoid of banditry and kidnapping as they become capital offences.
DAILY POST gathered that the executive bill was presented at the plenary by the House Leader, Alhaji Faruk Dosara.
Hon. Dosara urged the lawmakers to accelerate the passage of the bill to consolidate on the relative peace and maintain stability in the state.
The House leader noted that the bill came at the right time when the administration of Gov. Bello Matawalle was working seriously to provide lasting solutions to the security challenges bedeviling the state.
Another lawmaker (PDP) Tsafe west, Hon. Aliyu Danjibga who seconded the motion, urged his colleagues to accept the bill, adding that it was in accordance with the Assembly’s commitment to ensure relative peace, harmony and stability in the state.
In his response, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Nasiru Magarya directed the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Abdullahi Bayero to present copies of the bill to all the members for scrutiny.
