Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State has stated that he had not decided if he would be re-contesting for the governorship position come 2015.

Yari, while speaking with newsmen in Gusau, the state capital said he was yet to decide whether he would seek for a second term on the platform of the newly registered All Progressives Congress, APC or not.

The governor further added that one of the challenges before him was to ensure that the newly registered party, APC, has a concrete foundation in the state.

“In six months time, we would have formed a formidable structure and then start thinking of 2015,” he declared.

Describing the emergence of the APC as part of the realisation of the yearning and aspirations of Nigerians, the governor said the PDP had failed to deliver the dividends of democracy since its inception in 1999.

Yari, who doubles as the vice chairman of Governor Rotmi Amaechi’s faction of the Governors Forum, alleged that the crisis in the forum was engineered by the president.

He said, “the NGF is one body. The governors were never fighting. But what is happening now is that we are fighting with the president. This, to me, does not augur well in our search for true democracy and federalism.
