The Zamfara state Governor, Hon Bello Muhammed Matawalle on Monday vowed to give former governor, Abdulaziz Yari, a tough time, insisting that what was impossible for Yari would be very possible for him.
Speaking with DAILY POST on phone Monday, the governor noted that Abdulaziz Yari was only operating on jealousy because what he could not achieved security-wise, has been achieved by his administration.
“The attacks on this government by the former governor indicates that he was not happy seeing the state in a peaceful condition, but security should be the watchwords of every responsible government which Yari has failed totally,” he stressed.
According to Matawalle, his predecessor should watch his utterances or face the consequence of his words, stressing that he would no longer tolerate any rubbish statement from Yari henceforth.
“I have taken enough insult from him and would no longer tolerate his excesses but if he insists on insulting me and my government, I will do nothing but to show him that I am the number-one citizen and the chief security officer of this state,” he vowed.
He noted that during the administration of Yari, he (Matawalle) did not engage himself in an open confrontation with Yari but through constructive criticisms that would have helped the government to address some issues that bedeviled the state.
The Governor noted that government is a continuous process, assuring that his administration would emphasise on some economic projects initiated by Yari to give ways for the economic progress of the state.
‘”As I have always promised my government is a government of the people by the people for the people and I have included all the political parties in my government and I have shut down the mouths of so many critics in and out of the state,” he said.
Matawalle urged the citizens of the state to ignore the empty propaganda of the former governor, stressing that he is nothing but “a public enemy and an enemy of progress to the state and an empty propagandist. ” I would urged you all to ask Yari why he was unable to stop the terror attacks and notorious kidnappings in the state for eight years of his administration,” he asked.
