Interim coach of the Zambian national team, Wedson Nyirenda, has stated that qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup is a must for Chipolopolo.
To achieve the feat, Zambia will have to finish top of group B ahead of Cameroon, Nigeria and Algeria.
Addressing the press ahead of Sunday’s game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Nyirenda said the fact that the Zambian team is going through a rebuilding process would not derail their ambition of picking the sole ticket in the group.
“I have always said even if we are building the team, we have to qualify to the World Cup for the first time.
“The arrival of professionals has boosted morale in the team, we are looking good with the brotherliness I am seeing in the team,” he said.
