Interim coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf, has praised the team’s spirit and commitment, after they defeated Mali 1-0 in a friendly played in France on Friday.
Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, scored the winning goal in the 77th minute, but Nigeria should have won by more.
“The performance is inspiring and I am happy about the team spirit,” Yusuf said.
“Every player fought well on the field. The commitment and determination is there, and we hope to carry this forward.”
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, also applauded “an exciting display” at the Stade Robert Dichon.
“I’m quite happy with the display and the result,” Pinnick remarked.
