Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda has sacked all his political aides.
He, however, excluded few in charge of “essential services”.
The move may not be unconnected with the allegations that some appointees were carting away government properties.
Same allegations have also been made in some states.
A statement signed by Hashimu Yakubu, permanent secretary, Political Affairs yesterday, stated that the sacking of all special advisers, senior special assistants and personal assistants was with immediate effect.
It said, “The executive governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has approved the disengagement of all special advisers (with the exception of the special adviser, Due Process).
“Also, all senior special assistants, special assistants and personal assistants (with the exception of those who work directly under His Excellency, the executive governor or the deputy governor).”
According to the statement, affected officers are requested to hand over government properties in their possession to heads of organisations where they served.
Yuguda expressed appreciation to the political aides who have been disengaged for their contributions to the development of Bauchi State in their various capacities and wished them the best in their future endeavours. .
