Youths urge credible voters to participate in Ondo lawmaker, Baderinwa Bamidele’s recall

Youths in Idanre /Ifedore Federal Constituency have called on credible voters in the area to come out en-mass as the process to recall the embattled member of the House of Representatives, representing the constituency, Hon Bamidele Baderinwa has begun.

The youths under the auspices of Idanre /Ifedore youth Coalition (IYC) explained that credible voters in Idanre should converge on Owena while voters in Ifedore should settle at Igbara Oke for the exercise.

The group also warned that only credible voters with valid voter’s card are allowed to participate in the exercise.

Coordinator of the group, Adeyemi Alabi, noted that the youths are poised to lead the struggle of bringing a new dawn into the area.

He disclosed that over thirty youths have been posted to different areas within the constituency to sensitize the people on the need to participate in the exercise.

Alabi maintained that house to house sensitization had began since last week, stressing that the people of the area are determined to see the process to the end.

He said “as you can see, we are set for the process of recalling our representative at the national assembly, I mean, the federal house of Representatives, Hon. Baderinwa Bamidele, popularly called” Mr. White ” must be recalled

“This is democracy at work, and we are happy that we are taking solace in the beauty of democracy, we have lost confidence in Baderinwa, so he must go

“We have listened to one member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), sounding like a broken record in defence of Mr. White, we will like to set the record straight

“That we are not disputing that sometimes in 2015, Hon Bamidele was in Ifedore to distribute some empowerment material, after that event, no empowerment has taken place in our constituency

“That Hon. Bamidele has performed woefully, compared to the likes of Hon. Afe Olowokere and the rest

“We want to say, unequivocally that we are jealous of Akure South /North federal constituency while we are mostly unfortunate

“That Hon. Bamidele have not impacted positively in the live of the people of our constituency” he said.

Also, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore local government has described as laughable the purported statement credited to one Adekunle Adewale who according to reports said there is no plan to recall Hon. Bamidele.

The party said Adewale’s reaction came as a shock to the party as he had decamped to the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

The party in a statement signed by the Organising Secretary, Akinloye Bolarinde said “Adewale is a card carrying member of AD.

“He was an AD polling agent in his Ikota unit in the last gubernatorial election. We the LG executives of APC later replaced him with Mr Mogaji Ezekiel from the same unit after he had defected to AD immediately after the gubernatorial primary

“He is from unit 1, idi aagba in Ikota and he only managed to have 8 votes for AD in the last gubernatorial election where he was an agent”.

The party maintained that Adewale’s reaction on the matter and his claims as the youth leader of the party raised suspicious.

According to the party “The APC received with shock the purported recall of Hon. Baderinwa Bamidele. We are not happy over the development.

“But, we will like to state that the youths in Idanre /Ifedore are only romancing with their constitutional right

“We will like to appeal to them to please let dialogue. This recall is not a thing of Joy to the APC

“But as a politic party who believes so much in the rule of law, we can not stop the youths from exercising their constitutional right, we can only appeal to them

“More alarming is the claim of one Adekunle Adewale who claimed he is the youth leader of our party

“We will like to state that it is not only criminal but also shocking for a member of the AD to speak for the APC

“Adewale is the cousin of Hon. Baderinwa, but he is not a member of APC, He has since defected to the AD during the last gubernatorial election”.
