Youths say Buhari’s emergence shows growth of democracy in Nigeria

Some Nigerian youth coming under the banner of Professional Youths for Good Governance of Nigeria (PYGGN) yesterday hailed the emergence of Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (retd.) as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a good development that would deepen democracy in the country.

The group, that spoke through a statement issued by its National President, Tunde Daromosu; and National Coordinator, Nasir Abdulquadri, noted that the recent APC National Convention indicates that Nigerians were determined to make the right choice and create an impact which would place the country back on track.

According to the statement, “The party showed its preference for democratic principles through a very transparent, credible and hitch-free presidential primary that produced a Nigerian of impeccable and incorruptible character, which has restored hope for a better future for Nigerian youths

“PYGGN is determined to give absolute support to the candidate of the APC and will involve itself in the mass mobilisation of Nigerian youths, women and elites to vote massively for the electoral success of Muhammadu Buhari, to uplift the dignity of Nigerians and eradicate poverty in our land.”
