The lawmaker representing Ojo Federal Constituency in the lower legislative chamber, Hon. Tajudeen Obasa has hailed former President, Goodluck Jonathan as he clocks 58 today.
In a congratulatory message released on Friday by his media team, the Obasa extended his joy, happiness and appreciation to the hero and great symbol of democracy in Nigeria and Africa.
“A good man remains a blessed one, an individual that believes power is transient,” he said
Obasa, who recalled Jonathan’s quote throughout his reign that “my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian”, said the ex-president practised what he preached when he conceeded defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari during the presidential election in March.
” Families and friends of the Jonathans should remain grateful and see it as a point of duty during his lifetime to annually celebrate him due to his worthy legacies of promoting good governance, championing national unity and restoring confidence in democracy,” Obasa added.
Since leaving office, Jonathan has been involved in some international engagements.
In October, he led the Commonwealth delegation, as part of the international observers to monitor the Tanzanian general election held on October 25.
