A federal lawmaker from Kaduna State, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung yesterday condemned the bomb explosion in Sabon-Gari local government of the State that led to the death of 26 civil servants.
“This inhumanity from man to man must stop,” he said.
Katung, who also condoled with the State governor, Nasir El-Rufai and the Emir of Zazzau over the unfortunate incident, said “what happened in my dear Kaduna State, particularly in Sabon-Gari local government council is very sad and unfortunate”.
He told Journalists in Kaduna that the bombing was the handiwork of “devils with an evil mind”, adding that “it is shameful that in the 21st century, somebody will choose the path of dishonour to inflict pains on the people by way of terror attack on his fellow citizens.
“As a nation, we must overcome this. Our people have suffered so much in the hands of insurgents; this is the time for our leaders to come together and find a lasting solution to this ugly trend.
“It is high time for the government to review its security strategy, because the primary responsibility of any government is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.
“There is nothing to gain by killing innocent people who have committed no crime other than going about pursuing their legitimate means of livelihood”.
The legislator added that the terror attacks on the various States called for national unity and a coordinated strategy to confront the unwarranted killing of “innocent people.”
He stressed that the government must also wake up to its responsibility, adding “this must not continue, Nigerians did not bargain for this when they came out en-mass to vote for ‘Change’.”
“Enough is enough, people’s blood should not be used as a tool for bargain of any perceived grievances,” he concluded. .
