Yobe State Governor, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Gaidam has approved the sum of N948, 854, 033.00 for the payment of gratuity to 532 civil servants who retired recently.
A statement from the office of his Adviser on Media, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego also said that the number included some workers who died recently.
The affected persons or relatives of affected deceased civil servants were asked to check with the Pensions Department of the Office of the Head of Service, Governor’s Office Damaturu, for their entitlements.
According to the statement, this is part of ongoing effort by the Governor to promote the well being and welfare of civil servants, both during active service and after retirement.
It also said that the Yobe State Government under Ibrahim Gaidam remained committed to doing everything necessary to improve the living conditions of the entire people of the state.
