Yobe declares two-day public holiday for PVC collection

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State has approved the declaration of Thursday 5th February and Friday 6th February 2015 as public holidays to enable workers across the State to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) from officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in their respective areas.

The Governor urged all workers and people across the State who had not yet collected their PVCs to use the period to collect their cards as a step towards exercising their civic duty during the forthcoming elections.

A statement from the office of Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego said banks and other financial institutions operating in the State could open their doors for business during this period.

It added that all business and commercial activities would continue throughout the State during the two-day public holiday.
