Over 2000 members of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) in Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State have defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The PDP members who defected from across six towns of the local government, namely, Garin Jalam, Garin Gambo, Nzada, Garin Bakwamai, Garin Isah Yaya and Chukuriwa were received by the zonal coordinator-zone B, Ibrahim Gaidam campaign organization who is also the former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Saleh Bagare.
While addressing the new members, the Geidam campaign coordinator said, APC in Yobe state would carry them along in its programme,adding that they will never regret leaving the PDP as the party has nothing to offer the people of Yobe state.
Alhaji Aliyu Saleh Bagare said APC was out to salvage Nigeria and as such expressed optimism that it would win the 2015 general election at all levels.
”I am very happy you now realized and denounced membership of the PDP by shifting your loyalty to the APC. I assure you that, your coming is an indication and testimony to the good things Governor Ibrahim Geidam has been doing to the people of Yobe state. I know that you have made the right decision and will not regret this step of faith you have taken to come and join us for the greater good. “the zonal co-coordinator said.
Also speaking, the APC chieftain in the area, Alhaji Gambo (aka Talakawa Ga Naku) commended Gaidam for evenly transforming the state from 2011 to date, noting that” more people will soon join the APC and we will collectively work to ensure the success of the party at all levels during the forthcoming general elections”. he said.
Alhaji Adamu Gambo also said that those who defected included the PDP wards chairmen, Delegate and several other followers who denounced membership of the PDP and have thrown their weight behind the APC in the search for a better and purposeful leadership.
He said the people Yobe State have seen the performance of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam in four years and seen that he deserved a second term in 2015 to continue to delivered more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
