Yero laments killing in Southern Kaduna, pledges improved security

Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has assured the people of Southern Kaduna zone of improved security towards putting an end to attacks by unknown gunmen.

The Governor made the pledge yesterday while on campaign tour to Zangon Kataf Local Government Area where he also promised to complete all ongoing projects in line with government’s ideology of continuity.

According to Yero “The present administration has continued to collaborate with security agencies with the aim of preventing attacks on our communities, unfortunately some people are bent on creating chaos in the state but we shall not relent until the entire state is safe for our people”.

Yero called on people in the area to support government’s peace and security efforts and to assist security agencies with relevant information to prevent criminals from carrying out deadly attacks.

While at the Palace of the Agwam Bajju, Malam Nuhu Bature, Yero commiserated with the people of the area over the recent attack by gunmen that resulted in loss of lives, and prayed for continued peace in the state and the country at large.

In his remarks, the Agwam Bajju cautioned politicians against making unguarded utterances that may lead to crisis in the State.

Bature, who spoke on behalf of two other traditional rulers, the Chiefs of Ikulu and that of Kamanta, emphasisied that peace was the bedrock of any development.

He called on those seeking to lead people to demonstrate responsible attitude to issues affecting their communities at all times.

Bature appreciated the decision of the state government to establish a university of science and technology in Kafanchan, saying it would expand opportunities for qualified candidates to gain admission.

“We can see that the work is in progress, and we believe that it is not just a promise,” he said, adding that the people of the area looked forward to its conclusion.

The monarch reassured the Governor of the support of all traditional leaders in the area in the forthcoming elections.

He further urged to people in his domain to pray for peaceful general elections.
