Yero condemns attacks in Sanga, murder of District Head

Kaduna State Governor, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has condemned the attack on innocent citizens in Ambe-Madaki Village of Sanga Local Government Area and the murder of the District Head of Zangang in Atakar Chiefdom, Mr Yohanna Daniel Shinkut, describing the acts as ‘devilish and unwarranted’.

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mallam Ahmed Maiyaki, the Governor stated that the new wave of attacks in Southern Kaduna were clear indications that some desperate persons were bent at creating confusion in the state for their selfish gains.

Governor Yero called on people in the affected communities to remain calm as Government had taken measures to restore law and order, adding that “security surveillance has been intensified in the affected communities to provide adequate security for the people.”

He said Government had also directed the full payment of medical bills of all injured victims while the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) had equally been directed to provide immediate assistance to those affected by the ugly incidence.

Governor Yero said, “though we have recorded tremendous progress in ensuring unity and peaceful coexistence in the entire state, it is obvious that some enemies of our dear state are bent on sowing seeds of discord in order to score cheap political points. “I call on the entire people of Kaduna State to remain united in the face of this calculated attempt at dividing us, we must work together to put our common enemies to shame.”

Yero declared that, “enough is enough” as Government is ready to take decisive measures to protect the lives and properties of its citizens adding that “we are going to restrategise in our quest to proactively guard our communities, this wanton shedding of innocent blood of our citizens is enough.”

He also paid tribute to Mr Yohannah Daniel Shinku, describing him as a symbol of peace, who will forever be remembered for his selfless service to his people and the state at large.

He commiserated with families of those killed in the attacks while assuring the entire people of the state that “security personnel are presently on the hills of those behind this dastardly act with a view to ensuring that they are brought to justice”.
