The governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, has predicted that the Peoples Democratic Party will become stronger, better and more vibrant in the state.
The governor reminded members of the party that all hope was not lost despite the dismal showing of the party in the 2015 general elections, encouraging them not to despair but stay on course while awaiting the 2019 elections.
In a statement issued from the Government House, Bauchi, on Thursday, Yuguda called on the people of the state to pray for the incoming administration in the state to be able to consolidate on the socio-economic gains of his outgoing administration, noting that as elections had come and gone, the people of the state should avoid the idea of engaging in negative politics with no direct bearing on the socio-economic progress of the state.
Yuguda also pledged that despite the fact that his administration was winding down, he would continue to protect the lives and property of the law abiding people of Bauchi State as well as provide social services to the populace without malice and discrimination.
The governor praised voters in the state, the Independent Electoral Commission officials, security agencies, civil society organisations and the PDP among other stakeholders, for their collective roles in guaranteeing the peaceful conduct of the March 28 and April 11 elections in the state.
