The President of United States, Donald Trump has congratulated France after their World Cup win over Croatia on Sunday.
Trump also praised Russia’s president for hosting the tournament.
France on Sunday won the 21st FIFA World Cup hosted by Russia.
The Didier Deschamps’s men emerged winner of the tournament defeating Croatia 4-2.
“Congratulations to France, who played extraordinary soccer, on winning the 2018 World Cup.
“Additionally, congratulations to President Putin and Russia for putting on a truly great World Cup Tournament — one of the best ever!” Trump said on Twitter after Les Bleus were victorious, winning 4-2.
Trump will on Monday meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin for a summit in Helsinki, Finland.
