Super Eagles defender, Brian Idowu, has declared that the team will show good football to the world when they face Argentina in the last game of the Group D on Tuesday.
Nigeria has faced Argentina four times in the group stage in their last five appearances in the World Cup (1994, 2002, 2010 and 2014) and were narrowly beaten by a single goal margin on each occasion.
The Russia-born player has stressed that those results will not determine the outcome of tomorrow’s game.
Idowu who escorted coach Gernot Rohr to the press conference on Monday, said, ”It is going to be a big game, it is going to be a very important game for both teams, hopefully we will show good football for the world to see, of course we are hoping that we get the job done and qualify from the group.
“We have met Argentina already a lot of times in the group stages in the World Cup. It doesn’t add pressure because that was in the past, we are here now to play in the present which is more important right now.
”Of course, we have watched the matches and learnt from the mistakes we did back then, and we are going to improve on it.”
Idowu netted on his debut for Nigeria in a friendly against Argentina last November.
