Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr believes Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi did well in the opening minutes of Nigeria’s 2-0 loss against Croatia in their 2018 World Cup opener on Saturday.
The German tactician also disclosed that Leicester City forward, Ahmed Musa has a chance of starting in the attack line against Iceland on Friday after showing flashes of his qualities against the Balkans.
”Of course, you are not satisfied when you don’t score; we were satisfied about the organization of the team defensively but we didn’t have so many opportunities to score,” Rohr said in his post-match conference ahead of Nigeria, Iceland clash.
”Alex Iwobi did well in the beginning and later Ahmed Musa came, bringing his speed to the match, he has his chances, perhaps, to start the next game, we will see.
”I think the organization was okay, it was the first time we played like that in the midfield, with Ndidi who is coming back now after an injury, with Etebo and Obi Mikel, so when they play together for the first time, there’s a bit of complicity.
”I think these young players need time to learn, sometimes a little bit naive on the set-pieces but we will work on it.”
