Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that his team cannot afford to lose any of their last two Group D fixtures at the 2018 World Cup.
He said that they need at least four points to qualify for the round of 16.
Rohr stated this after the Eagles were defeated 2-0 at the Kaliningrad Stadium by Luka Modric led Croats putting their qualification from the group stage in danger.
The German tactician, however, admitted that qualification for round of 16 is still in their hands.
”It is important to make at least four points if you want to qualify, we are only one point behind for the moment, nothing is lost, all is our hands, so let’s be positive and believe we can do it,” Rohr told reporters.
”We have the youngest team in the World Cup, let them learn from this match and try to do better.
”We saw the good game of Iceland against Argentina, very strong team. We know that they are able to do very well, we also can do better than we did today.”
Rohr’s men will take on Iceland at the Volgograd Arena on June 22 before clashing with Argentina in Saint Petersburg four days later.
