Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has stated that his players will play better when they clash with Argentina on Tuesday night at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in their final Group D clash in the 2018 World Cup.
The Eagles would reach the knockout phase for the fourth time in six World Cup tournaments if they beat the La Albiceleste.
”Despite the huge pressure of expectation, it’s important that the joy of participating at a World Cup remains tangible in every training session,” Rohr said to fifa.com.
”It’s easy to show solidarity when you win but your real character only comes out when you lose.”
Rohr added : ”If you have a young team, then you have to be patient and accept that mistakes will happen because they’re part and parcel of the game.
”Even between our first and second games ,I could see a learning process taking place. The team will get better again in the third match.”
Rohr’s side head into the game after defeating Iceland 2-0 in their second game, while Argentina were humiliated 3-0 by Croatia.
The kick off time for the match is 7pm.
