World Cup 2018: Nigeria’s opponent, Iceland names squad

One of Nigeria’s group opponents at the Russia 2018 World Cup, Iceland, has named their squad for the tournament.

The announcement was made three weeks earlier than required by FIFA.

The 23-man squad announced on Friday is made up of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, eight midfielders and four strikers.

Iceland included Gylfi Sigurdsson in their squad for the World Cup, despite the Everton playmaker being injured.

They will face Nigeria in a Group D clash on June 22 in Volgograd after their first game against Argentina on June 16.
