Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has slammed Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling for his World Cup performances after England finished fourth in Russia.
Mourinho said Sterling did not have a good World Cup after the former Liverpool winger struggle in front of goal all through the tournament.
Sterling has scored just twice for England in 44 games, his last coming in October 2015.
The former Chelsea boss said other players would have been better options for manager Gareth Southgate’s side, on their run to the semi-finals.
Mourinho told Russia Today, “He didn’t have a good enough World Cup to be chosen for a match ahead of [Jamie] Vardy, [Danny] Welbeck, [Marcus] Rashford–people with probably better condition from a physical and psychological point of view.”
The Portugal gaffer’s comment come after England lost 2-0 to Belgium and finished fourth in Russia.
