World Cup 2018: Modric reveals Croatia biggest concern ahead of England clash

Croatia captain, Luka Modric has admitted England’s success from set-pieces is a major concern for them ahead of Wednesday’s semi-final clash.

The Three Lions have scored eight times from set-pieces in Russia already, the most at a World Cup since Portugal in 1966.

Modric says his side will spend the days leading up to the semi-final clash. working on how to nullify England’s threat.

“They’re very dangerous on set-pieces. They have players like Harry Maguire, Harry Kane, John Stones and others, who are very strong.

“You can see they have been working hard on set-pieces – that’s why they’re scoring so much.

“We have to pay attention to those details and hopefully we’ll do better than we did against Russia in that way.

“England are looking strong as a team and have scored a lot of goals from set-pieces.

“We’re going to have to pay attention to those details, because we conceded a goal against Russia that we shouldn’t allow.

“It’s football but, thank God, in the end, we’re in the semi-final. But we have to kill games earlier.

“We were a much better team than Russia, especially in the second-half and extra-time, but we cannot do without drama, it seems,” the Real Madrid midfielder said.
