World Cup 2018: Maradona reveals what he went through during Argentina’s 2-1 win over Nigeria

Argentina legend, Diego Maradona, has revealed what happened to him during his country’s 2-1 win over Nigeria in the last Group D clash on Tuesday.

The football icon claimed he was just suffering from a bad neck after he received medical treatment.

The Albiceleste legend, watching the game from a director’s box, created almost as many headlines as the match itself with his bizarre behaviour, falling asleep at half-time before perking up enough to throw up two middle fingers when Nigeria claimed their equaliser.

After the match, footage showed Maradona looking completely zoned out and he had to be carried back up the steps to his box by his entourage.

Giving the update on his health after he was taken to the hospital, he wrote on Instagram, “I want to tell everyone that I am fine.

“In the half-time of the game against Nigeria, my neck hurt a lot and I suffered a decompensation. I was checked by a doctor and he recommended me to go home before the second half, but I wanted to stay because we were risking it all.

“How could I leave? I send a kiss to everyone, thanks for the support!”
