Reno Omokri, a former aide to the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, has said that Nigerians should not lose focus from the killing of over 100 innocent citizens by Fulani herdsmen in Plateau State, to the Super Eagles’ defeat to Argentina at the 2018 World in Russia.

Omokri, in a series of tweets on Wednesday morning, noted the Nigeria can always qualify for another World Cup, but the dead are gone forever.

He also noted that at least the Super Eagles were able to find the back of the Argentina net, but those killed in Plateau villages can no longer achieve their goals in life.

Omokri tweeted, “I am actually not so perturbed that we lost to Argentina today. We lost 150 lives in Plateau 3 days ago.

“We can always qualify for another World Cup, but these souls are gone. At least we scored one goal today against Argentina, but they can’t achieve any of their goals for life.

“I just pray that these killings by herdsmen don’t lead to a Rwandan-like situation in Nigeria.

“The amount of hate that these killings have engendered and the laissez faire manner that Buhari is treating the issue forebodes ill.

“So much unexploded tension waiting to explode.”
