Iceland coach, Heimir Hallgrímsson has named two Super Eagles players who are good in the air ahead of his side’s second Group D clash with Nigeria in the 2018 World Cup on Friday evening.
According to Hallgrímsson, striker, Odion Ighalo and midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi are the two players in Gernot Rohr’s team that are good in the air.
He, however, stated that his players would make good use of set pieces to beat the three times African champions when both teams clash at the Volgograd Stadium.
”Your players are really good in the air, I think. Ndidi and Ighalo are probably one of the best guys in the air in the tournament, so this is just normal for us, we prepare set-pieces for every opponent we meet,” Hallgrímsson said in a pre-match press conference on Thursday.
”There is nothing different from Nigeria or Argentina, we had the same question before the Argentinian game.
”But you conceded two goals last game from a set-piece so of course maybe there’s not a high confidence when you conceded, so we have to try to use that, like all our chances we get, normally we don’t get many.”
The Super Eagles head into the clash after losing 2-0 to Croatia last Saturday, while Iceland played a 1-1 draw with Argentina last weekend.
The kick off time for the match is 4pm.
