A former Secretary-General of the Nigerian Foot Association, NFA, now known as the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Fanny Amun, has declared that all that the Super Eagles need to beat Argentina is sticking to game plan and maintaining confidence on the pitch.
Amun urged them to surpass the Argentina hurdle in their final Group D match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the Krestovsky Stadium, St Petersburg on Tuesday, June 26.
“Argentina is beatable. What we need do is to play with confidence and the right game plan,” Amun told journalists in Volgograd.
“We have very young players that can still feature in another two or three World Cup. So for me, I want them to enjoy themselves in Russia, see how far they can go and we continue to consolidate,” Amun said.
Amun, Nigeria’s 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning coach, also commended the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF board for ensuring that that Super Eagles enjoy an excellent camp atmosphere in Russia.
He said, “We are here (Russia) and things are running as if the country’s football is on auto pilot. Nothing negative is coming out of Super Eagles’ camp. I think Amaju and his team deserve commendation.”
