Domagoj Vida scored in the first half of extra time for the Zlatko Dalic’s men before Mario Fernandes equalized for the hosts to take the match to penalty shootout.
However, Croatia eventually won 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the semi-final of the tournament
Dalic’s side will now face England, who defeated Sweden 2-0 in the last four at the Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday.
