World Cup 2018: Croatia dump out hosts Russia to qualify for semi-final

Croatia on Saturday night defeated hosts Russia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter-final encounter played at the Fisht Stadium.

Denis Cheryshev puts Russia in front in the 31 minutes before Andrej Kramaric leveled for the Croats as the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Domagoj Vida scored in the first half of extra time for the Zlatko Dalic’s men before Mario Fernandes equalized for the hosts to take the match to penalty shootout.

However, Croatia eventually won 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the semi-final of the tournament

Dalic’s side will now face England, who defeated Sweden 2-0 in the last four at the Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday.
