Chelsea have heaped praise on their player, Kenneth Omeruo, after Nigeria beat Iceland 2-0 in Group D second match on Friday.
The defender put up a master class performance in the Super Eagles 2-0 win.
The Nigerian defender became Chelsea player in January 2012 from Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, Sunshine Stars.
But he is yet to make his competitive debut for the Londoners despite obtaining a work permit.
The central defender has been farmed out on loan to Turkish clubs Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor, Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag, and he played for Middlesbrough in the English Championship during the 2014-2015 season.
The player recently signed a contract extension with Chelsea last summer, which keep him at the club until June 2020.
Chelsea tweeted, ”What a performance from @omeruo22! #NGAISL.”
The club has been monitoring their players at the tournament including Victor Moses and their former player John Obi Mikel.
