Manchester United executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, has skipped their pre-season tour of the United States, to complete deals for Ivan Perisic and Eric Dier.
According to the UK Mirror, Woodward is trying to push through a £45million move for Inter Milan’s Perisic by next week.
Manager Jose Mourinho wants to make the 28-year-old Croatian his third big-money signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
Inter are demanding £50m for Perisic, but United are only willing to go to £45m and will make a final offer this week.
Woodward, who is currently in the UK, will also try to finalize a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier.
The United chief is hoping that a £50million bid, will be enough to tempt their Premier League rivals to sell the versatile player.
