Cameroon have qualified for the 2019 Women’s World Cup Round of 16, following a dramatic 2-1 win over New Zealand on Thursday evening.

The Indomitable Lionesses took the lead through Ajara Nchout in the 57th minute, before Aurelle Awona’s own goal levelled the game with 10 minutes left.

There was still time for the Cameroonians to win it, with Nchout completing her brace in the dying moments.

The Africans qualify as the third best loser in the competition, after Brazil and China.

This means there is one more spot left.

That will be determined in the final Group F matches, when USA take on Sweden and Chile clash with Thailand.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will have an eye on the latter, with hopes that even if Chile win, it is not by more than three goals.

Thailand have already conceded 18 times in this World Cup.

Kick off is 8pm.
