The woman, who was arrested on Sunday by the Lagos state police command for allegedly inflicting injury on her house-help with a saw has been identified and charged to court.

DAILYPOST recalls that the housemaid was rescued by neighbours who heard her shout and reported to a police station

It has been revealed that the woman brutalized the underage girl for “breaking a plastic and burning cooked beans.”

The woman was identified as Mfoniso Udodoikpom, a native of Akwa-Ibom State.

It was learnt that she took the victim, 13-year-old Esther, from the village some years ago, after the demise of her parents and brought her to Lagos for domestic duties.

The Lagos State Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus, who confirmed her arrest, said: “Madam Mfoniso Udodoikpom from Akwa Ibom State assaulted Esther, the girl she picked from their state to Lagos since she was young.

“A neighbour reported at the station that the suspect used a saw blade to injure her maid for breaking a plastic and burning cooked bean.

“Effort is ongoing to partner Lagos State Government to keep the child, who said she is an orphan, in a shelter, while the suspect will be charged to court.” She added.
