Wole Soyinka’s daughter, Iyetade is dead

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has lost his daughter, Iyetade.

Iyetade passed away on Sunday at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, Oyo State.

A statement issued by an aide to the 1986 Nobel laureates winner, Jahman Anikulapo, revealed that the 48-year-old Iyetade died after a brief illness.

According to the statement, the late Iyetade was an “affable, intelligent and sometimes capricious” woman who “struggled with her health in recent years,” Anikulapo said in the statement.

Until her demise, she was a student at the Staff School and Queens School, Ibadan before studying Medicine at the University of Ibadan.

She is survived by two children, her parents, numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.
