Arjen Robben has said that he is not sure Arsenal will be able to retain the services of Jack Wilshere, if they keep failing to win trophies.
The Gunners are set to end an eighth season without silverware, after they were eliminated from the FA Cup and League Cup by lower opposition and are on the brink of exiting the Champions League, after Bayern Munich won 3-1 at the Emirates.
Robben, who plays for Bayern, says the 21-year-old midfielder has huge potential and might be lured away from the Emirates, despite signing a new five-year deal recently.
“I don’t know if Arsenal can keep him if they are not winning things. It’s always difficult to judge that about another player,” the Dutchman told The Star on Sunday.
“But you can see that Wilshere is a very big talent and he is only young still, he’s just 21 years old. He will definitely be a big player.”
