Wikki Tourists have confirmed that Godwin Obaje, is in talks with unnamed foreign clubs and is set to leave the club.
Obaje finished as top scorer, during the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, after scoring 18 goals for the Bauchi team.
Wikki chairman, Isah Matori, says there in advanced negotiations with few clubs outside the country for their top marksman.
“Our top scorer, Godwin Obaje is leaving for greener pasture, we are in discussion with some clubs outside of Nigeria,” Matori told Goal.
“Three clubs have shown real interest and talks are in advance stage but the identity of these clubs will made public as soon as we finalise.”
Obaje however hinted at remaining in the NPFL, when he spoke with Goal.
“I am very happy that I have cut interest from many clubs both home and abroad because of my performance last season and I know that what is expected of me next season is much more,” Obaje said.
“I need to double up and give out my best next season if I am still in Nigeria or not because I know all eyes will be on me.”
