Wike’s sack, a gang up by APC-led FG – PDP insists

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described yesterday’s Appeal Court ruling which nullified the election of Governor Nyesom Wike as a gang up by the All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government to rob the incumbent of his mandate.

Chairman of the party in the state, Mr Felix Obuah disclosed this in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Jerry Needam

He said, “The judgement was an obvious gang-up by the All Progressives Congress, APC led Federal Government against duly elected Governor of the State, Barr. Nyesom Wike and other elected lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, using some Justices of the Court of Appeal as willing tools to invalidate their elections.”

Obuah, while enjoining members of the party and people of the state to remain law abiding, assured that “Governor Nyesom wike remains the Governor of Rivers State and the PDP would challenge the decision of the Appeal Court in Supreme Court.”

He noted that the party holds the Judiciary in high esteemed and strongly believes that not all judicial officers can be compromised, as such, it would be heading to the Supreme Court to challenge the judgement of the Appeal Court on Thursday.

Obuah said, “We further assure our members and indeed, the good people of Rivers State, that Barr. Nyesom Wike remains the Governor of Rivers State as the PDP would take advantage of the provisions of the law to challenge the decision of the Appeal Court, in the Supreme Court.”

The statement further expressed optimism that the party will come out victorious at the end of the day.
