A group of heavily armed kidnappers Thursday night abducted Margaret Emefiele, the wife of Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Sahara Reporter reports that Mrs. Emefiele was kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor Road.
The Eagle Online quoted a police source as saying that four other women and a driver were kidnapped along with Mrs. Emefiele.
It was gathered that the abductors have since made contact with the family, demanding for a ransom of N100 million.
The source said: “Though for their security I will not disclose those with the wife of the Governor (Godwin Emefiele), I can tell you that five other persons were kidnapped along with her.
“They are her driver and four other women with whom she was travelling.”
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team has deployed a team of police men alongside other crack detectives of the Nigeria Police to rescue the victims.
