Widow’s sons murder health worker in Enugu

A health worker, attached to the Health Department of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu state has been allegedly murdered by two sons of his widow lover.

It was gathered that the deceased, who had been a regular visitor to the widow’s house, met his untimely death on his way home.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident, said that the deceased, Mr. Kenneth Isiwu was ambushed by the sons of the widow, identified as Ekene and Chiebolam Eze.

According to Amaraizu, “the deceased, a staff of Health Department of the local Government Area met his untimely death when he visited his lady friend and widow whom he had been relating with before his demise.

“In the course of visiting the lady friend, he was attacked by the two sons of the woman, identified as Ekene and Chiebolam Eze with sticks and matchets”.

The statement from the PPRO equally disclosed that the widow’s sons, who allegedly laid siege on the deceased, were not happy over his constant visits as well as his alleged amorous dealings with their mother.

“It was further gathered that Ekene and Chiebolam also inflicted matchet cut on the head of the deceased and as a result, he sustained serious injury.

“He was rushed to Bishop Shanaham Hospital Nsukka where he stayed about three days and subsequently referred to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital ( UNTH ) Ituku Ozalla Enugu State where he later died”, the statement added. The police spokesman said the police Command in the state had commenced full investigations into the alleged murder.
