Arsenal striker, Danny Welbeck, has revealed that he will not feature in their Emirates FA Cup round of 16 clash at Sutton United, because of the plastic pitch.

The Gunners travel to Gander Green Lane on Monday, for a place in the last eight of the competition .

Welbeck will not make the trip, as he was part of the Arsenal U-23 side that lost 2-1 to Leicester City on Sunday. The England striker played 70 minutes of the game.

He tweeted afterwards: “Glad to get 70 minutes today to build up my match fitness. Plastic pitch at Sutton isn’t the best idea at the moment. #COYG

Welbeck has made only one start since he returned from an eight-month lay-off, scoring a brace in their 5-0 win over Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round.
