Some lawmakers under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Wednesday stormed Benue State.
The Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson led the lawmakers to show support to the embattled governor of the state, Samuel Ortom.
He was accompanied by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.
Dickson, speaking assured Governor Ortom that he is not alone, adding that he and other lawmakers in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will be by his side.
Dickson disclosed this on his Twitter page.
He wrote: “I am in Makurdi to condole with the government and good people of Benue State over the killings as well as show solidarity with Governor Samuel Ortom.
“I, on this note, call for the protection of democratic institutions in Nigeria.”
This is coming after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused Ortom of 22 billion Naira fraud immediately after he announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the PDP.
