Some Internally Dispalced Persons (IDPs) in Abuja, have claimed that they rejected an offer from suspended Senator Ali Ndume to protest against the National Assembly and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over his suspension.
The IDPs said they refused the offer, because Ndume who had been representing them for four years, had never visited their town to execute any project.
However, a pro-Ndume protest march took place on Tuesday.
The crowd laid siege at the entrance of the National Assembly in Abuja, demanding the immediate reinstatement of Senator Ndume.
The supporters blocked the main entrance to the Assembly complex.
Some of the protesters had banners with Ndume’s picture and their demands.
Recall that the senate had last week Wednesday suspended Ndume for six months for raising allegations against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Senator from Kogi West, Dino Melaye through order 14 and 15 at plenary.
However, Saraki while addressing reporters on Monday said he has “no powers” to reverse the suspension of the former Senate Leader.
But the IDPs say they were happy with what had befallen Ndume.
