Nasarawa State Government has explained why civil servants in the state were not paid before Sallah.
It refuted the claim in some quaters that the governor refused to pay salaries to state workers until the ongoing biometric exercise was completed.
The government, however, begged workers in the state to bear with its inability to pay salaries before the Sallah holiday, which is slated for today and tomorrow.
The Accountant General of the state, Mohammed Musa, while addressing newsmen in Lafia, yesterday, noted that the non-payment of salaries before Sallah was due to the delay in holding the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, meeting.
He said the meeting was held on Tuesday and would require three working days for the money to be released to states by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
