The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has accused the state governor, Nyesom Wike of mismanaging N26bn.
State Chairman of the APC, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree claimed that Governor Wike spent the N26bn on reconstruction of roads and roundabouts, adding that there is nothing to show for funds accruing to the state.
Flag-Amachree stated that the Rivers state government has authorized the Chairman of the Rivers state Board of Internal Revenue Service not to disclose the IGR of the state.
The APC Chairman said this over the weekend during a mega rally of the party in Omoku, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area of the State.
According to him, “In the history of Rivers state, we have never seen this level of corruption before that is going on government.
“You can imagine how a Governor will spend a whole twenty six billion naira on reconstruction of roads that are already in existence and few roundabouts within Port Harcourt.
“There has been nothing done by this government to improve the lives of Rivers people. No investment of any sort. Rather companies are leaving in droves,” he said.
Flag-Amachree reiterated the readiness of APC members and supporters to vote out Governor Wike in 2019.
However, the Rivers state Commissioner for Information, Emma Okah refused to respond to the calls and text message sent to him to react to the claims of the opposition party.
