Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, did not include Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, in their 24-man Champions League squad published on UEFA’s website on Monday.
The omission caused panic among United fans on social media, who concluded that the two England players will not feature in the competition until February, when clubs can update the lists.
However, teams in the competition, are required to hand in two lists to UEFA.
List A can contain a maximum of 25 players, two of whom should be keepers, but there must be no fewer than eight locally-trained players in their squad.
List B is for players born after January 1 1996, which must be submitted no later than 24 hours before a match.
Rashford and Lingard qualify for List B.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and James Wilson were surprise inclusions for the group games against Basel, Benfica and CSKA Moscow.
