Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to join Liverpool, despite a fee being agreed between Arsenal and Chelsea .
The BBC reports this is because Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to play in central midfield.
One of the reasons the England international is leaving the Emirates, is because Arsene Wenger deploys him in a wingback position. And the 24-year-old feels Blues boss Antonio Conte will also play him out wide at Stamford Bridge.
This has made him favour a move to Anfield.
It is understood that if no agreement can be reached, however, Oxlade-Chamberlain will stay at Arsenal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who started for Arsene Wenger’s side, in their 4-0 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday, is with the England squad at St George’s Park.
He is out of contract at the end of the season, along with Arsenal team-mates Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
