Amkar Perm of Russia midfielder, Izunna Uzochukwu, has revealed why coach Sunday Oliseh, excluded him from the Super Eagles squad to play Cameroon and Congo next month.
“I was informed of my exclusion from the squad by coach Sunday Oliseh who told me he wanted me to get the needed treatment to recover fully from my injury,” he told completesportsnigeria.com
“I’m fine now and should feature in Thursday’s Russian Cup game against Russian second division side Spartak Nal’chik.
“Hopefully in subsquent games I’ll be back in the Super Eagles squad.”
The former FC Midtjylland player, suffered a groin injury while playing for Nigeria in an AFCON qualifier in Tanzania and also missed the Eagles friendly against Niger Republic few days later.
He, however, returned to the bench, as Amkar Perm drew 1-1 with Zenit St Petersburg over the weekend. .
